Had a great dinner and Lebanese wine in a cool old house in Homs with a Brazilian couple whom I met in Cres Des Chevalivers sit on a hilltop village. They did an excellent job with the crispy chicken liver. It was a great combination with the wine. The food was a treat to us to celebrate our victory from - 1. climbing up to the castle when super cold rain and strong wind chill was blocking our way up; 2. bargaining hard with the taxi driver who drove us down the hill to the highway where we hitchhiked a pickup van which hardly fitted three of us in the front passenger seat; 3. walking miles to the restaurant from the verge of the city where we were dropped off by the generous Syrian driver. The most lucky thing was the restaurant opened on Friday.
